The Art & Science of Love-making! The Gottman's new sex blog!
As a therapist who specializes in working with couples, I have been part of a multi-year training and certification process in Gottman method couples therapy. The Gottman method draws from the research of John and Julie Gottman to help couples learn communication skills associated with satisfaction and emotional safety in relationships so that couples can strengthen their connection as friends and also as romantic and sexual partners. To that end, the Gottman Institute has started a blog focusing on issues of sexual intimacy and maintaining and deepening your sexual connection with your partner. What I’ve learned in my own marriage as well as in my experience as a couples therapist is that your connection with your partner is both precious and a living, breathing, ever-changing phenomenon that like a plant requires attention and nurturing. Couples therapy is one way to take care of your connection, but there are also couples workshops that teach couples the Gottman skills, books you can read that the Gottmans have written, and now their blog and Twitter feed!
